Hi Sheila,
I have been using Quality Compliance Systems for some time now and the system is brilliant. Could you advise me if CQC legally requires to do Mock Inspection Toolkits or any other similar audit?
Thank you
David
There is no requirement for you to undertake a mock inspection. The toolkit in your QCS system is for your use to check where you are in your preparations for an inspection and to make sure that you are keeping everything up to date.
CQC will however expect to see evidence that audit is taking place.
There is a quality audit and management section in the QCS system which as well as providing an audit tool for care also has tools for auditing maintenance, housekeeping, HR etc.
I would advise you to look at these and if you don’t have any auditing going on then you should think about implementing them.
Do not however try to do everything at once. Implement so that the systems are sustainable in the long term.
Decide how often each area needs to be audited and stick to that.
Tucked away in the audit tools are really important indicators such as regular weighing of service users. It is only by audit that you can check that such important but easy to miss indicators are being completed on time.
I hope that this is clear and helpful but do contact me again if I can be of further help.
Best wishes,
Sheila
