I think that the answer to your question could be “How long is a piece of string?”

There are costs that you would need to pay such as the registration fee to CQC and before you can apply for registration you must have in place the appropriate policies, procedures and forms.

You would of course also need to have insurance in place.

You can rent or buy an office but you could also use a room in your own home to begin with. It would need to be a room that could be secured and there would need to be one secure, fire proofed and lockable unit where staff and service user records could be stored.

These are the basics, you would also be considering staff and you might have to pay the staff before you have been paid for providing the service so you would need to have an arrangement with your bank.

This is, of course, only the beginning because you also need to consider how you are going to keep your business records and of course everything has a cost.
