Can a registered manager run two companies using one CQC manager ID number?
There is nothing that legally prevents a registered manager from managing two separate locations. You will need to provide assurance to the CQC that you are able to understand the priorities and issues of each location and be able to manage both locations. If you cannot do this, then the CQC could refuse to allow this to take place. You are more likely to be approved if you have a lot of experience, the locations are small, geographically close to each other and they provide the same regulated activity. You will need to clearly demonstrate how you will effectively manage two locations at the same time.
