I am a registered manager at a care home for adults with learning difficulties. I am considering reducing my hours, my question is what are the minimum hours I would be required to work?Thank you.

It is the responsibility of the Responsible Person and the Registered Manager to make sure that a care service is managed appropriately with the necessary numbers of staff at all levels to make sure that the service meets the 5 KLOEs:

1. Is it Safe?
2. Is it Effective?
3. Is it Caring?
4. Is it Responsive?
5. Is it Well-Led?

I presume that you have discussed this with your employer.

I think that what you need to do is to carry out a full assessment of all the responsibilities that you currently have and the time necessary each week or month to carry out these responsibilities.

I say this because I think that you need to be able to demonstrate that you will be able to carry out your responsibilities within the hours that you intend to work.

The alternative is to suggest that you might be able to have a job share.

Unless this is a very, very minor reduction in hours you will need to inform CQC of the change.
