Last night our fantastic England football team once again represented us spectacularly. Throughout the championships they have demonstrated the power of diversity. We applaud what they have done both on the pitch and off, how they have consistently challenged stereotypes and stood against racism.
We stand with them and with our colleagues and customers against online abuse and all forms of discrimination. There is no place for racism in football, in society, in the workplace or in this country. We must all unite and fight it, wherever we see it. Those of us who are white must remember we are the ones with power and privilege, that we are the ones who need to challenge those who try to say that no more is needed. Despite everything that we can be so proud of about Euro 2020 there are also stark reminders that we still have a long way to go.
