Now more than ever, Rachel Linfoot, as a Dental Practice Manager, recognises the need for a high-quality compliance system. A management system that allows her to keep up-to-date with the ever-changing Coronavirus guidance, and most importantly keep her staff and patients safe.
Last week, Rachel shared with us how she uses the Risk Assessments on the QCS system. Today, Rachel is going to talk to us about the different HR content & functions QCS has to offer.
This week I have appointed some new staff at my practice, so I am keen to see what HR policies and forms QCS offer to help me prepare for the new starters.
The answer is……. everything you need!
There are over 55 policies and procedures within the Human Resources sections and then job descriptions on top of that.
The policy sections are broken down into the following:
- Absence, holidays, and sickness
- Contract of employment
- Equality and Human Rights
- Job Descriptions
- Performance and Discipline
- Recruitment, Induction and Training
- General Human Resources
- Miscellaneous
My new starter was a Dental Nurse, so I decided to use the system to prepare all
the necessary documents for her personnel file. I was delighted that I was able to prepare the following:
- Contract of Employment
- Job Description
- Staff handbook
- Induction policy and procedure
- Training policy and procedure
- Annual leave policy and holiday request forms
- Advice on how to calculate holiday pay
- Equality and Diversity policy and procedure
- Capability policy and procedure
- Discipline Policy and Procedure
- DBS policy and procedure
Using the QCS system really has saved me a lot of time, where I would have been looking for documents or creating my own, I have instead spent the time working on the practice and caring for the patients and staff. I feel confident that I have all the correct documents prepared, which is a big relief and a big tick on my to do list!
